Guradiya is a small village of 558 hectares in Pirawa Tehsil in Jhalawar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Guradiya depends on Jhalrapatan, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 134.35% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Guradiya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Guradiya's pin code is 326034[4], and village code is 04096300. The area of Guradiya is segregated as 243 hectares irrigated area, 186.4 hectares unirrigated, the 54.2 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 74.4 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Guradiya has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Guradiya is a census village in the district of Jhalawar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1489 and has total administration over 291 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Guradiya has 203 children, 90 boys and 113 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 181 (12.16%) males constitute 98 (6.58%) of the population and females 83 (5.57%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 288 (19.34%) males constitute 141 (9.47%) of the population and females 147 (9.87%).

Employment[edit]

According to a census 2011 report, 901 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 464 male, 437 female with 515 (57.16%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 333 males and 182 females. 234 males and 143 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 79 male and 33 female agricultural labor. 386 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jhalrapatan and Jhalawar to sell ghee and make their living.
