Hangara is a small village of 66 hectares in Ghatol Tehsil in Banswara district, also known as City of Hundred Islands in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Hangara depends on Banswara, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Hangara is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Hangara's pin code is 327023[4], and village code is 03390500. The area of Hangara is segregated as 4 hectares irrigated area, 36 hectares unirrigated, the 7 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 4 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Hangara has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Hangara is a census village in the district of Banswara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 193 and has total administration over 41 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Hangara has 32 children, 12 boys and 20 girls.
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 193 (100.0%) males constitute 83 (43.01%) of the population and females 110 (56.99%).

The workforce is 47 male, 66 female with 61 (53.98%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 37 males and 24 females. 34 males and 20 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 2 female agricultural labor. 52 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Banswara to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
