Harsora is a small village of 889 hectares in Bansur Tehsil in Alwar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Harsora depends on BEHROR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Harsora is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Harsora's pin code is 301412[4], and village code is 00867700. The area of Harsora is segregated as 350.25 hectares irrigated area, 210.04 hectares unirrigated, the 128.14 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 200.1 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Harsora has One post office (Harsora S.O) and Eleven public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Harsora has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Harsora is a census village in the district of Alwar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 5802 and has total administration over 961 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Harsora has 939 children, 502 boys and 437 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1000 (17.24%) males constitute 528 (9.10%) of the population and females 472 (8.14%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 688 (11.86%) males constitute 363 (6.26%) of the population and females 325 (5.60%).

According to a census 2011 report, 2365 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1440 male, 925 female with 2001 (84.61%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1308 males and 693 females. 575 males and 555 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 45 male and 15 female agricultural labor. 364 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of BEHROR and Alwar to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
