Hod is a small village of 841 hectares in Sri Madhopur Tehsil in Sikar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Hod depends on Khandela, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 57.13% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Hod is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Hod's pin code is 332709[4], and village code is 01727300. The area of Hod is segregated as 62.93 hectares irrigated area, 591.11 hectares unirrigated, the 116.25 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 70.28 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Hod has One post office (Hod B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Hod has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Hod is a census village in the district of Sikar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1969 and has total administration over 336 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Hod has 329 children, 175 boys and 154 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 290 (14.73%) males constitute 147 (7.47%) of the population and females 143 (7.26%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 194 (9.85%) males constitute 98 (4.98%) of the population and females 96 (4.88%).

The workforce is 418 male, 285 female with 324 (46.09%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 264 males and 60 females. 55 males and 42 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 35 male and 3 female agricultural labor. 379 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Khandela and Sikar to sell ghee and make their living.
