Honda

A Japanese public multinational conglomerate producer of vehicles, motorbikes, and power equipment with its headquarters in Minato, Tokyo, Honda Motor Company, Ltd. is based in Tokyo, Japan.

For more than 50 years, Honda has been the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer, with annual production expected to reach 400 million by the end of 2019. Honda is also the world's largest manufacturer of internal combustion engines, with annual production of more than 14 million internal combustion engines. In 2001, Honda surpassed Toyota as the second-largest Japanese vehicle manufacturer. Honda was the world's eighth biggest automotive manufacturer in 2015, according to the International Automotive Manufacturers Association.

With the introduction of the Acura premium brand in 1986, Honda became the first Japanese vehicle manufacturer to do so. Honda makes a variety of items in addition to its main vehicle and motorbike operations, including garden equipment, marine engines, personal watercraft, and power generators, among other things. Honda has been active in artificial intelligence and robotics research since 1986, and its ASIMO robot was first introduced in 2000, according to the company. Aside from that, they have made forays into the aerospace industry, with the founding of GE Honda Aero Engines in 2004 and the manufacture of the Honda HA-420 HondaJet, which commenced in 2012. Honda has two joint ventures in China: Dongfeng Honda and Guangqi Honda. Dongfeng Honda is a manufacturer of motorcycles.

Honda spent around 5.7 percent (US$6.8 billion) of its total sales on research & development in the year 2013. Additionally, in 2013, Honda became the first Japanese manufacturer to be a net exporter from the United States, with the company exporting 108,705 Honda and Acura automobiles to the country while importing just 88,357.
