Shahzada Idris Badruddin[2][3][4][5] is the fourth son of Mohammed Burhanuddin II,[6] the 52nd Dai al-Mutlaq of Dawoodi Bohras, a branch of Tayyabi Mustaali Ismaili Shi'a Islam.

Idris Badruddin was born on 9 February to Mohammed Burhanuddin and Aisaheba Amatullah.

Career[edit]

Badruddin is the Ameer (lit. 'head') of Idaratul Attalim,[7] a department of Dawoodi Bohra community for spiritual and temporal education. Badruddin is the President of Burhaniyah Business Counseling Centre (BBCC),[8][9] a NGO to facilitate trade and commerce in the community,[8] founded by his father Mohammed Burhanuddin[10] on June 6 2007.[11] BBCC organizes Burhani Expo, an international exhibition for businesses,[12][13] and International Industrial and Trade Fair.[14]

Badruddin heads the bohrabusiness.com initiative.[15]

In recent years, Badruddin had conducted Ashara Mubaraka sermons in Mumbai, Chennai, Dubai, and Toronto.[3]

Badruddin led hajj as Ameer al-Hajj (lit. 'leader of the pilgrimage') of the Dawoodi Bohras in 1994 and 2016.

Badruddin was one of the witnesses of nass on his brother Mufaddal Saifuddin by Mohammed Burhanuddin at Cromwell Hospital in London, 2011 along with his brothers Qaidjoher Ezzuddin, Qusai Vajihuddin, and Ammar Jamaluddin.[16]
