The Interlochen Center for the Arts is a nonprofit organisation that manages arts education institutions as well as performing venues in the northwestern Michigan region. It is located on a campus that spans 1,200 acres (490 hectares) in Interlochen, Michigan, which is about 15 miles (24 km) to the southwest of Traverse City.
Interlochen provides financial assistance to aspiring young artists from across the world and throughout the United States who are interested in pursuing careers in music, theatre, dance, visual arts, creative writing, cinema, and multidisciplinary arts.
The Interlochen Center for the Arts is the parent organisation for the summer programme Interlochen Arts Camp, the arts boarding high school Interlochen Arts Academy, the performance series Interlochen Presents, the adult arts programme Interlochen College of Creative Arts, and the online arts programme Interlochen Online. National Public Radio (NPR) charter station Interlochen Public Radio is also a part of the Interlochen Center for the Arts.
