Jagsara is a small village of 603 hectares in Niwai Tehsil in Tonk district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Jagsara depends on Niwai, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Jagsara is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Jagsara's pin code is 304025[4], and village code is 02628500. The area of Jagsara is segregated as 112.32 hectares irrigated area, 186.53 hectares unirrigated, the 145.89 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 157.79 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Jagsara has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Jagsara is a census village in the district of Tonk, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1591 and has total administration over 259 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Jagsara has 272 children, 144 boys and 128 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 256 (16.09%) males constitute 126 (7.92%) of the population and females 130 (8.17%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 950 (59.71%) males constitute 493 (30.99%) of the population and females 457 (28.72%).

According to a census 2011 report, 749 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 379 male, 370 female with 667 (89.05%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 326 males and 341 females. 254 males and 194 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 11 male and 139 female agricultural labor. 82 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Niwai and Tonk to sell earthen pot and make their living.
