Jakhaniya is a small village of 1350 hectares in Nagaur Tehsil in Nagaur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Jakhaniya depends on Nagaur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Jakhaniya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Jakhaniya's pin code is 341001[4], and village code is 01800500. The area of Jakhaniya is segregated as 1255.46 hectares unirrigated, the 50.2 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 44.41 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Jakhaniya is a census village in the district of Nagaur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1772 and has total administration over 269 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Jakhaniya has 318 children, 151 boys and 167 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 357 (20.15%) males constitute 186 (10.50%) of the population and females 171 (9.65%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 6 (0.34%) males constitute 2 (0.11%) of the population and females 4 (0.23%).

The workforce is 460 male, 189 female with 343 (52.85%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 309 males and 34 females. 182 males and 15 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 18 male and 4 female agricultural labor. 306 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Nagaur to sell carpet and make their living.
