James Patrick Westmoreland (November 25, 1935 - September 14, 2016) was an American actor also known by the stage name Rad Fulton[1], who starred in such films as Don't Answer the Phone! and The Last Sunset (film), and had recurring roles in General Hospital and the ABC Western series The Monroes (1966 TV series).

Early life[edit]

Westmoreland was born in Dearborn, Michigan, the son of Mary (Chelarue) and James Westmoreland Sr. He had a younger brother, William.[2] He graduated from Cooley High School in 1953, and moved to New York City|New York, where he briefly worked as a model before being taken on by talent agent Henry Willson and moving to Hollywood, Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. Willson gave Westmoreland the stage name Rad Fulton.[3]

Career[edit]

Westmoreland appeared in a number of films as Rad Fulton in the late 1950s and early 1960s. However, after a falling out with Willson in 1963, Westmoreland was forced to relinquish the stage name, appearing in subsequent films under his birth name until his retirement from acting in the 1980s.[1]

Personal life[edit]

Westmoreland married the actress Kim Darby in 1970, but the marriage only lasted 3 months.[3]
