Jamun is a small village of 243 hectares in Girwa Tehsil in Udaipur district, also called 'the city of lakes' set amidst the Aravalli Ranges in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Jamun depends on Udaipur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Jamun is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Jamun's pin code is 313706[4], and village code is 03168500. The area of Jamun is segregated as 2 hectares irrigated area, 16 hectares unirrigated, the 47 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 152 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Jamun has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Jamun is a census village in the district of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 352 and has total administration over 78 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Scheduled caste counts for 8 (2.27%) males constitute 4 (1.14%) of the population and females 4 (1.14%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 321 (91.19%) males constitute 161 (45.74%) of the population and females 160 (45.45%).

The workforce is 106 male, 8 female with 91 (79.82%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 87 males and 4 females. 73 males and 2 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 7 male and 1 female agricultural labor. 23 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Udaipur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
