Jatiya is a small village of 724 hectares in Ajmer Tehsil in Ajmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Jatiya depends on Nasirabad, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 168.02% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Jatiya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Jatiya's pin code is 305025[4], and village code is 02507300. The area of Jatiya is segregated as 168.02 hectares irrigated area, 231.11 hectares unirrigated, the 71.04 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 145.82 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Jatiya has Three public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Jatiya has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Jatiya is a census village in the district of Ajmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3007 and has total administration over 540 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Jatiya has 563 children, 298 boys and 265 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 157 (5.22%) males constitute 80 (2.66%) of the population and females 77 (2.56%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1240 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 700 male, 540 female with 444 (35.81%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 375 males and 69 females. 9 males and 2 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 24 male and 29 female agricultural labor. 796 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Nasirabad and Ajmer to sell earthen pot and make their living.
