Jeran is a small village of 2181 hectares in Bagora Tehsil in Jalor district, also known as Granite City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Jeran depends on BHINMAL, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 200.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Jeran is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Jeran's pin code is 343030[4], and village code is 02312400. The area of Jeran is segregated as 759.25 hectares irrigated area, 620 hectares unirrigated, the 350 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 452 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Jeran has One post office (Jeran B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Jeran has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Jeran is a census village in the district of Jalor, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 4523 and has total administration over 700 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Jeran has 814 children, 418 boys and 396 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 411 (9.09%) males constitute 221 (4.89%) of the population and females 190 (4.20%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 370 (8.18%) males constitute 186 (4.11%) of the population and females 184 (4.07%).

The workforce is 1261 male, 1251 female with 1535 (61.11%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1026 males and 509 females. 924 males and 475 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 27 male and 18 female agricultural labor. 977 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of BHINMAL and Jalor to sell earthen pot and make their living.
