Jhanwar is a small village of 7597 hectares in Luni Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Jhanwar depends on Jodhpur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 318.00% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Jhanwar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Jhanwar's pin code is 342014[4], and village code is 01996000. The area of Jhanwar is segregated as 318 hectares irrigated area, 4715 hectares unirrigated, the 652 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 1912 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Jhanwar has One post office (Jhanwar B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Jhanwar has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Jhanwar is a census village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 5648 and has total administration over 930 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Jhanwar has 939 children, 505 boys and 434 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1079 (19.10%) males constitute 549 (9.72%) of the population and females 530 (9.38%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 228 (4.04%) males constitute 114 (2.02%) of the population and females 114 (2.02%).

The workforce is 1386 male, 620 female with 1763 (87.89%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1266 males and 497 females. 528 males and 345 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 210 male and 121 female agricultural labor. 243 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jodhpur to sell wood furniture and make their living.
