Jonl is a small village of 418 hectares in Todabhim Tehsil in Karauli district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Jonl depends on TODABHIM, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Jonl is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Jonl's pin code is 321611[4], and village code is 01186100. The area of Jonl is segregated as 151.65 hectares irrigated area, 173.73 hectares unirrigated, the 1.18 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 91.9 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Jonl has One post office (Jonl B.O) and One public telephone. Jonl has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Jonl is a census village in the district of Karauli, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2871 and has total administration over 462 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Jonl has 418 children, 217 boys and 201 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1259 (43.85%) males constitute 665 (23.16%) of the population and females 594 (20.69%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 962 (33.51%) males constitute 519 (18.08%) of the population and females 443 (15.43%).

The workforce is 682 male, 575 female with 703 (55.93%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 593 males and 110 females. 352 males and 58 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 76 male and 43 female agricultural labor. 554 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of TODABHIM and Karauli to sell ghee and make their living.
