Kagariya is a small village of 435 hectares in Gangdhar Tehsil in Jhalawar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kagariya depends on Kolvi Mandi Rajendrapur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Kagariya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Kagariya's pin code is 326515[4], and village code is 04126700. The area of Kagariya is segregated as 93.76 hectares irrigated area, 175.75 hectares unirrigated, the 92.84 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 72.45 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Kagariya has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Kagariya is a census village in the district of Jhalawar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1189 and has total administration over 207 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Kagariya has 168 children, 92 boys and 76 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 186 (15.64%) males constitute 96 (8.07%) of the population and females 90 (7.57%).

The workforce is 351 male, 323 female with 185 (27.45%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 175 males and 10 females. 135 males and 6 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 18 male and 2 female agricultural labor. 489 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Kolvi Mandi Rajendrapur and Jhalawar to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
