Kagmala is a small village of 954 hectares in Raniwara Tehsil in Jalor district, also known as Granite City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kagmala depends on BHINMAL, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, which is 33.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Kagmala is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Kagmala's pin code is 343049[4], and village code is 02337100. The area of Kagmala is segregated as 133 hectares irrigated area, 1 hectares unirrigated, the 589 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 230.61 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Kagmala has One post office (Kagmala S.O) and One public telephone. Kagmala has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Kagmala is a census village in the district of Jalor, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2723 and has total administration over 519 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Kagmala has 439 children, 234 boys and 205 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 380 (13.96%) males constitute 194 (7.12%) of the population and females 186 (6.83%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 682 (25.05%) males constitute 357 (13.11%) of the population and females 325 (11.94%).

The workforce is 777 male, 662 female with 681 (47.32%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 612 males and 69 females. 160 males and 18 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 171 male and 13 female agricultural labor. 758 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of BHINMAL and Jalor to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
