Kahela is a small village of 216 hectares in Sagwara Tehsil in Dungarpur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kahela depends on Sagwara, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Kahela is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Kahela's pin code is 314029[4], and village code is 03333300. The area of Kahela is segregated as 3 hectares irrigated area, 50 hectares unirrigated, the 15 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 128 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Kahela has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Kahela is a census village in the district of Dungarpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 997 and has total administration over 180 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Kahela has 177 children, 101 boys and 76 girls.
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 996 (99.90%) males constitute 524 (52.56%) of the population and females 472 (47.34%).

The workforce is 242 male, 201 female with 103 (23.25%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 77 males and 26 females. 31 males are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 10 male and 18 female agricultural labor. 340 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Sagwara and Dungarpur to sell juggary and make their living.
