Kair is a small village of 1611 hectares in Bayana Tehsil in Bharatpur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kair depends on Bayana, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 54.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Kair is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Kair's pin code is 321411[4], and village code is 01075900. The area of Kair is segregated as 160 hectares irrigated area, 619 hectares unirrigated, the 317 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 21 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Kair has One post office (Keir B.O). The village is connected with a single bus service. Kair has One bank and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Kair is a census village in the district of Bharatpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2886 and has total administration over 516 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Kair has 514 children, 264 boys and 250 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 980 (33.96%) males constitute 521 (18.05%) of the population and females 459 (15.90%).

The workforce is 741 male, 572 female with 925 (70.45%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 656 males and 269 females. 324 males and 106 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 22 male and 50 female agricultural labor. 388 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bayana and Bharatpur to sell earthen pot and make their living.
