Kalakho is a small village of 558 hectares in Dausa Tehsil in Dausa district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kalakho depends on Bandikui, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Kalakho is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Kalakho's pin code is 303304[4], and village code is 01388300. The area of Kalakho is segregated as 269 hectares irrigated area, 66 hectares unirrigated, the 123 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 25 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Kalakho has One post office (Kalakho Sadak B.O). Kalakho has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Kalakho is a census village in the district of Dausa, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2113 and has total administration over 441 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Kalakho has 327 children, 175 boys and 152 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 691 (32.70%) males constitute 380 (17.98%) of the population and females 311 (14.72%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 856 (40.51%) males constitute 475 (22.48%) of the population and females 381 (18.03%).

According to a census 2011 report, 822 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 501 male, 321 female with 638 (77.62%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 481 males and 157 females. 325 males and 134 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 43 male and 13 female agricultural labor. 184 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bandikui and Dausa to sell carpet and make their living.
