Kalawas is a small village of 1065 hectares in Bhopalgarh Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kalawas depends on Jodhpur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Kalawas is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Kalawas's pin code is 342603[4], and village code is 01950400. The area of Kalawas is segregated as 389.23 hectares irrigated area, 335.01 hectares unirrigated, the 119.36 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 221.12 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Kalawas has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Kalawas is a census village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1187 and has total administration over 214 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Kalawas has 189 children, 98 boys and 91 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 348 (29.32%) males constitute 185 (15.59%) of the population and females 163 (13.73%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 3 (0.25%) males constitute 1 (0.08%) of the population and females 2 (0.17%).

The workforce is 328 male, 319 female with 640 (98.92%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 322 males and 318 females. 225 males and 230 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 80 male and 83 female agricultural labor. 7 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jodhpur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
