She is an artist, composer, songwriter, producer, and singer. Her real name is Selena Victoria Diaz. She was born on April 16th, 1992.She is of mixed ethnicity. She first started doing music in middle school. Her first instrument was the recorder; and she was also part of the chorus class and had to sing in talent shows. When she was in her sophomore year of high school, she took up piano classes and joined musical theater where she had to perform. She also took classes in art. Selena was always told she looked Hawaiian and came up with the name Kanahala. It was in senior year, when she took a music tech class, where she discovered producing. Her music tech class used Garage Band and she fell in love with creating music. She wanted to be a singer before then, but fell in love with composing her own tracks, definitely since she already knew how to play instruments. So from there is when she created her SoundCloud account in 2011 when she graduated; and went to Bunker Hill Community College to further her music studies. There she learned how to read, write, and compose her own instrumental music. In her last year of college before she graduated, she learned how to use Pro Tools and got to experience how everything worked. In 2023, since her SoundCloud was doing so well, she finally created a Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Artist Channel, etc. As of last year, her husband and her have created their own production company, Rawbeenhood Records, which she is the first lady of.
