Kanera is a small village of 1983 hectares in Nimbahera Tehsil in Chittorgarh district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kanera depends on Jawad (M.P.), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Kanera is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Kanera's pin code is 312606[4], and village code is 03679700. The area of Kanera is segregated as 241.79 hectares irrigated area, 659.77 hectares unirrigated, the 724.52 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 212.02 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Kanera has One post office (Kanera S.O) and Twenty public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Kanera has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Kanera is a census village in the district of Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 5957 and has total administration over 1258 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Kanera has 661 children, 348 boys and 313 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 616 (10.34%) males constitute 311 (5.22%) of the population and females 305 (5.12%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 198 (3.32%) males constitute 96 (1.61%) of the population and females 102 (1.71%).

The workforce is 1778 male, 1359 female with 3055 (97.39%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1746 males and 1309 females. 842 males and 723 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 257 male and 439 female agricultural labor. 82 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jawad (M.P.) and Chittorgarh to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
