Kanthao is a small village of 377 hectares in Ghatol Tehsil in Banswara district, also known as City of Hundred Islands in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kanthao depends on Banswara, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, One canal and Two springs. Kanthao is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Kanthao's pin code is 327027[4], and village code is 03383200. The area of Kanthao is segregated as 108.04 hectares irrigated area, 167.13 hectares unirrigated, the 49.77 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 51.8 hectare area not available for cultivation.
Kanthao has One post office (Kanthao B.O) and One public telephone. Kanthao has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Kanthao is a census village in the district of Banswara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1970 and has total administration over 434 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.
- Kanthao has 329 children, 172 boys and 157 girls.
- Scheduled caste counts for 49 (2.49%) males constitute 26 (1.32%) of the population and females 23 (1.17%).
- Scheduled tribe counts for 1908 (96.85%) males constitute 989 (50.20%) of the population and females 919 (46.65%).

Employment[edit]
According to a census 2011 report, 1107 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 543 male, 564 female with 817 (73.8%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 517 males and 300 females. 491 males and 253 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 7 male and 46 female agricultural labor. 290 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Banswara to sell ghee and make their living.
