Karani is a small village of 1075 hectares in Jodhpur Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Karani depends on Jodhpur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Karani is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tanker. Karani's pin code is 342014[4], and village code is 01964000. The area of Karani is segregated as 983 hectares unirrigated, the 57 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 35 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Karani has One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Karani has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Karani is a census village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1860 and has total administration over 245 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Scheduled caste counts for 221 (11.88%) males constitute 110 (5.91%) of the population and females 111 (5.97%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 169 (9.09%) males constitute 93 (5.0%) of the population and females 76 (4.09%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jodhpur to sell ghee and make their living.
