Karatwas is a small village of 237 hectares in Amet Tehsil in Rajsamand district, known for Rajsamand Lake, an artificial lake created in the 17th century by Rana Raj Singh in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Karatwas depends on AMET, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 25.00% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, One canal and Two springs. Karatwas is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Karatwas's pin code is 313327[4], and village code is 02994900. The area of Karatwas is segregated as 33 hectares irrigated area, 22 hectares unirrigated, the 144 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 38.38 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Karatwas has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Karatwas is a census village in the district of Rajsamand, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 306 and has total administration over 76 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Karatwas has 45 children, 23 boys and 22 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 40 (13.07%) males constitute 20 (6.54%) of the population and females 20 (6.54%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 3 (0.98%) males constitute 1 (0.33%) of the population and females 2 (0.65%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of AMET and Rajsamand to sell ghee and make their living.
