Kartiya is a small village of 1304 hectares in Chohtan Tehsil in Barmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kartiya depends on BARMER, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Kartiya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Kartiya's pin code is 344704[4], and village code is 02266400. The area of Kartiya is segregated as 1002 hectares unirrigated, the 302 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves).
Kartiya has One post office (Kartia B.O). The village is connected with a single bus service. Kartiya has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Kartiya is a census village in the district of Barmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1031 and has total administration over 156 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

- Scheduled caste counts for 501 (48.59%) males constitute 267 (25.90%) of the population and females 234 (22.70%).

Employment[edit]
According to a census 2011 report, 458 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 277 male, 181 female with 433 (94.54%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 264 males and 169 females. 192 males and 149 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 9 male and 4 female agricultural labor. 25 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Barmer to sell rope making and make their living.
