Karwan is a small village of 3084 hectares in Osian Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Karwan depends on Phalodi, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Karwan is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Karwan's pin code is 342311[4], and village code is 01932900. The area of Karwan is segregated as 2816 hectares unirrigated, the 237 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 31.27 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Karwan has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Karwan is a census village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2749 and has total administration over 467 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Karwan has 622 children, 330 boys and 292 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1219 (44.34%) males constitute 628 (22.84%) of the population and females 591 (21.50%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 119 (4.33%) males constitute 67 (2.44%) of the population and females 52 (1.89%).

The workforce is 686 male, 490 female with 698 (59.35%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 557 males and 141 females. 421 males and 76 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 31 male and 39 female agricultural labor. 478 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Phalodi and Jodhpur to sell wool and make their living.
