Katheriya is a small village of 89 hectares in Bagidora Tehsil in Banswara district, also known as City of Hundred Islands in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Katheriya depends on Banswara, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Katheriya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Katheriya's pin code is 327031[4], and village code is 03457900. The area of Katheriya is segregated as 1 hectares irrigated area, 32 hectares unirrigated, the 27.22 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 29 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Katheriya has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Katheriya is a census village in the district of Banswara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 541 and has total administration over 97 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Katheriya has 90 children, 48 boys and 42 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 84 (15.53%) males constitute 42 (7.76%) of the population and females 42 (7.76%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 439 (81.15%) males constitute 219 (40.48%) of the population and females 220 (40.67%).

Employment[edit]

According to a census 2011 report, 315 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 157 male, 158 female with 165 (52.38%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 130 males and 35 females. 99 males and 7 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 2 male and 16 female agricultural labor. 150 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Banswara to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
