Katkar is a small village of 1442 hectares in Hindaun Tehsil in Karauli district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Katkar depends on HINDAUN, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Katkar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Katkar's pin code is 322234[4], and village code is 01215600. The area of Katkar is segregated as 619.56 hectares irrigated area, 411.71 hectares unirrigated, the 309.92 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 101.21 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Katkar has One post office (Katkad B.O) and Forty public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Katkar has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Katkar is a census village in the district of Karauli, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 7832 and has total administration over 1368 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Katkar has 1089 children, 628 boys and 461 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1004 (12.82%) males constitute 557 (7.11%) of the population and females 447 (5.71%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 5435 (69.39%) males constitute 2992 (38.20%) of the population and females 2443 (31.19%).

The workforce is 2029 male, 1479 female with 2357 (67.19%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1764 males and 593 females. 1060 males and 452 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 180 male and 95 female agricultural labor. 1151 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of HINDAUN and Karauli to sell earthen pots and make their living.
