Kayar is a small village of 1699 hectares in Ajmer Tehsil in Ajmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kayar depends on Ajmer, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 127.00% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Kayar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Kayar's pin code is 305023[4], and village code is 02503000. The area of Kayar is segregated as 256 hectares irrigated area, 1141 hectares unirrigated, the 197 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 105 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Kayar has Thirty public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Kayar has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Kayar is a census village in the district of Ajmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 4082 and has total administration over 784 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Kayar has 730 children, 373 boys and 357 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 599 (14.67%) males constitute 293 (7.18%) of the population and females 306 (7.50%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 4 (0.10%) males constitute 3 (0.07%) of the population and females 1 (0.02%).

The workforce is 1035 male, 450 female with 1247 (83.97%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 963 males and 284 females. 218 males and 115 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 64 male and 30 female agricultural labor. 238 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Ajmer to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
