Keeta is a small village of 11717 hectares in Fatehgarh Tehsil in Jaisalmer district, nicknamed ""The Golden city"" in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Keeta depends on JAISALMER, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Keeta is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Keeta's pin code is 345001[4], and village code is 02067100. The area of Keeta is segregated as 1189.07 hectares unirrigated, the 10304.08 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 224.03 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Keeta has One post office (Keeta B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Keeta has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Keeta is a census village in the district of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2533 and has total administration over 457 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Keeta has 575 children, 287 boys and 288 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 136 (5.37%) males constitute 68 (2.68%) of the population and females 68 (2.68%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 1002 (39.56%) males constitute 516 (20.37%) of the population and females 486 (19.19%).

According to a census 2011 report, 949 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 655 male, 294 female with 528 (55.64%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 452 males and 76 females. 188 males and 23 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 29 male and 1 female agricultural labor. 421 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jaisalmer to sell cot and make their living.
