Keroo is a small village of 5612 hectares in Jodhpur Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Keroo depends on Jodhpur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, which is 114.00% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Keroo is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Keroo's pin code is 342024[4], and village code is 01962600. The area of Keroo is segregated as 177 hectares irrigated area, 2375 hectares unirrigated, the 49 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 2809 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Keroo has One post office (Keru B.O) and Forty Five public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Keroo has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Keroo is a census village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 9523 and has total administration over 1575 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Keroo has 1735 children, 942 boys and 793 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 2677 (28.11%) males constitute 1375 (14.44%) of the population and females 1302 (13.67%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 184 (1.93%) males constitute 96 (1.01%) of the population and females 88 (0.92%).

According to a census 2011 report, 2969 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 2293 male, 676 female with 2539 (85.52%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 2113 males and 426 females. 402 males and 191 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 64 male and 23 female agricultural labor. 430 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jodhpur to sell leather shoes and make their living.
