Khakhar is a small village of 1033 hectares in Jhadol Tehsil in Udaipur district, also called 'the city of lakes' set amidst the Aravalli Ranges in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Khakhar depends on Udaipur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 100.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Khakhar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Khakhar's pin code is 313702[4], and village code is 03126900. The area of Khakhar is segregated as 156 hectares irrigated area, 187 hectares unirrigated, the 169 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 113 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Khakhar has One post office and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Khakhar has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Khakhar is a census village in the district of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2361 and has total administration over 531 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Scheduled caste counts for 38 (1.61%) males constitute 20 (0.85%) of the population and females 18 (0.76%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 1459 (61.80%) males constitute 737 (31.22%) of the population and females 722 (30.58%).

The workforce is 631 male, 296 female with 378 (40.78%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 311 males and 67 females. 176 males and 51 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 1 male. 549 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Udaipur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
