Khanri is a small village of 639 hectares in Danta Ramgarh Tehsil in Sikar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Khanri depends on Losal, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 265.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Khanri is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Khanri's pin code is 332025[4], and village code is 01704800. The area of Khanri is segregated as 265 hectares irrigated area, 333 hectares unirrigated, the 20 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 21 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Khanri has One post office (Khanri B.O) and Three public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Khanri has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Khanri is a census village in the district of Sikar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1488 and has total administration over 240 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Khanri has 210 children, 119 boys and 91 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 257 (17.27%) males constitute 137 (9.21%) of the population and females 120 (8.06%).

The workforce is 368 male, 60 female with 376 (87.85%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 347 males and 29 females. 175 males and 23 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 88 male and 4 female agricultural labor. 52 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Losal and Sikar to sell bricks and make their living.
