Khara is a small village of 4516 hectares in Phalodi Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Khara depends on Phalodi, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, One tank, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Khara is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Khara's pin code is 345023[4], and village code is 01920800. The area of Khara is segregated as 3836.28 hectares unirrigated, the 356.07 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 324.02 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Khara has One post office (Khara B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Khara has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Khara is a census village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2164 and has total administration over 423 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Khara has 417 children, 198 boys and 219 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 395 (18.25%) males constitute 197 (9.10%) of the population and females 198 (9.15%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Phalodi and Jodhpur to sell shoes and make their living.
