Khariya is a small village of 594 hectares in Sangod Tehsil in Kota district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[1] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Khariya depends on SANGOD, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[2] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Khariya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Khariya's pin code is 325207[3], and village code is 03843600. The area of Khariya is segregated as 262.15 hectares irrigated area, 199.05 hectares unirrigated, the 20.03 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 42.27 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Khariya has One post office (Khedia B.O) and Two public telephones. Khariya has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Khariya is a census village in the district of Kota, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1558 and has total administration over 285 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Khariya has 167 children, 85 boys and 82 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 304 (19.51%) males constitute 159 (10.21%) of the population and females 145 (9.31%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 18 (1.16%) males constitute 8 (0.51%) of the population and females 10 (0.64%).

The workforce is 426 male, 250 female with 318 (47.04%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 283 males and 35 females. 207 males and 18 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 23 male and 6 female agricultural labor. 358 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of SANGOD and Kota to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
