Khera is a small village of 601 hectares in Kushalgarh Tehsil in Banswara district, also known as City of Hundred Islands in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Khera depends on Partapur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Khera is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Khera's pin code is 327801[4], and village code is 03413600. The area of Khera is segregated as 295 hectares irrigated area, 85 hectares unirrigated, the 173 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 47.91 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Khera has Six public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Khera has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Khera is a census village in the district of Banswara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2591 and has total administration over 533 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Khera has 312 children, 177 boys and 135 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 159 (6.14%) males constitute 84 (3.24%) of the population and females 75 (2.89%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 1296 (50.02%) males constitute 660 (25.47%) of the population and females 636 (24.55%).

The workforce is 765 male, 696 female with 863 (59.07%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 598 males and 265 females. 235 males and 152 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 23 male and 46 female agricultural labor. 598 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Partapur and Banswara to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
