Kheroona is a small village of 439 hectares in Bundi Tehsil in Bundi district, also known as a city of stepwells in the State of Rajasthan, India.[1] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kheroona depends on NAINWA, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[2] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Kheroona is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Kheroona's pin code is 323001[3], and village code is 02719900. The area of Kheroona is segregated as 111 hectares irrigated area, 166 hectares unirrigated, the 76 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 26 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Kheroona has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Kheroona is a census village in the district of Bundi, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 837 and has total administration over 160 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Kheroona has 134 children, 68 boys and 66 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 197 (23.54%) males constitute 103 (12.31%) of the population and females 94 (11.23%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 241 (28.79%) males constitute 137 (16.37%) of the population and females 104 (12.43%).

According to a census 2011 report, 472 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 252 male, 220 female with 331 (70.13%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 201 males and 130 females. 192 males and 123 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 4 male and 4 female agricultural labor. 141 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of NAINWA and Bundi to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
