Khirni is a small village of 3284 hectares in Malarna Doongar Tehsil in Sawai Madhopur district, also known for Ranthambore National Park in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Khirni depends on SAWAI MADHOPUR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 63.36% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, One canal and Two springs. Khirni is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Khirni's pin code is 322024[4], and village code is 01290500. The area of Khirni is segregated as 1506.75 hectares irrigated area, 1150 hectares unirrigated, the 379 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 248.43 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Khirni has One post office (Khirni S.O) and Two Hundred Ten public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Khirni has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Khirni is a census village in the district of Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 12358 and has total administration over 2182 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Khirni has 1925 children, 1046 boys and 879 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 2012 (16.28%) males constitute 1044 (8.45%) of the population and females 968 (7.83%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 1381 (11.17%) males constitute 731 (5.92%) of the population and females 650 (5.26%).

The workforce is 3009 male, 1872 female with 3051 (62.51%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 2304 males and 747 females. 946 males and 342 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 331 male and 159 female agricultural labor. 1830 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Sawai Madhopur to sell earthen pot and make their living.
