Khiyas is a small village of 550 hectares in Degana Tehsil in Nagaur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Khiyas depends on Kuchera, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 78.80% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Khiyas is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Khiyas's pin code is 341514[4], and village code is 01846700. The area of Khiyas is segregated as 299 hectares irrigated area, 198 hectares unirrigated, the 38.6 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 14 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Khiyas has One post office (Khinyas B.O) and One public telephone. Khiyas has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Khiyas is a census village in the district of Nagaur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 717 and has total administration over 141 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Khiyas has 91 children, 45 boys and 46 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 210 (29.29%) males constitute 103 (14.37%) of the population and females 107 (14.92%).

The workforce is 187 male, 218 female with 344 (84.94%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 162 males and 182 females. 143 males and 175 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 2 female agricultural labor. 61 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Kuchera and Nagaur to sell rope and make their living.
