Kodesar is a small village of 1049 hectares in Jhunjhunu Tehsil in Jhunjhunu district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kodesar depends on BISSAU, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Kodesar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Kodesar's pin code is 331027[4], and village code is 00671600. The area of Kodesar is segregated as 940 hectares irrigated area, 95 hectares unirrigated, remaining 14 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Kodesar has One post office (Kodesar B.O) and Six public telephones. Kodesar has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Kodesar is a census village in the district of Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1251 and has total administration over 241 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Kodesar has 145 children, 73 boys and 72 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 432 (34.53%) males constitute 206 (16.47%) of the population and females 226 (18.07%).

The workforce is 304 male, 336 female with 546 (85.31%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 255 males and 291 females. 190 males and 267 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 36 male and 16 female agricultural labor. 94 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of BISSAU and Jhunjhunu to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
