Kolana is a small village of 343 hectares in Jhalrapatan Tehsil in Jhalawar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kolana depends on Jhalawar, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Kolana is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Kolana's pin code is 326001[4], and village code is 04001100. The area of Kolana is segregated as 34.61 hectares irrigated area, 66.52 hectares unirrigated, the 80.2 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 35.86 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Kolana is a census village in the district of Jhalawar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1168 and has total administration over 231 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

The workforce is 358 male, 345 female with 322 (45.8%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 217 males and 105 females. 154 males and 80 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 5 male and 16 female agricultural labor. 381 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jhalawar to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
