Kooka is a small village of 1328 hectares in Bagora Tehsil in Jalor district, also known as Granite City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kooka depends on BHINMAL, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 54.45% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Kooka is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Kooka's pin code is 343001[4], and village code is 02312000. The area of Kooka is segregated as 88.81 hectares irrigated area, 1198.27 hectares unirrigated, the 40.39 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 0.64 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Kooka has One post office (Harji B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Kooka has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Kooka is a census village in the district of Jalor, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2639 and has total administration over 500 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Kooka has 420 children, 215 boys and 205 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 260 (9.85%) males constitute 136 (5.15%) of the population and females 124 (4.70%).

The workforce is 696 male, 697 female with 1166 (83.7%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 671 males and 495 females. 512 males and 455 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 58 male and 27 female agricultural labor. 227 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of BHINMAL and Jalor to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
