Koriya is a small village of 3485 hectares in Jaisalmer Tehsil in Jaisalmer district, nicknamed ""The Golden city"" in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Koriya depends on JAISALMER, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, One tank, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Koriya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tanker. Koriya's pin code is 345001[4], and village code is 02042000. The area of Koriya is segregated as 148 hectares unirrigated, the 3277 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 60 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Koriya has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Koriya is a census village in the district of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 313 and has total administration over 63 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

Employment[edit]

According to a census 2011 report, 160 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 97 male, 63 female with 33 (20.63%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 25 males and 8 females. 4 males and 3 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 2 males. 127 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jaisalmer to sell ghee and make their living.
