Kosana is a small village of 3488 hectares in Bhopalgarh Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kosana depends on Pipar City, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 681.00% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Kosana is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Kosana's pin code is 342601[4], and village code is 01954600. The area of Kosana is segregated as 681 hectares irrigated area, 1852 hectares unirrigated, the 646 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 309 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Kosana has One post office (Kosana B.O) and Fifty Two public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Kosana has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Kosana is a census village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 4996 and has total administration over 960 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Scheduled caste counts for 1676 (33.55%) males constitute 883 (17.67%) of the population and females 793 (15.87%).

According to a census 2011 report, 2187 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1268 male, 919 female with 1027 (46.96%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 952 males and 75 females. 236 males and 12 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 311 male and 24 female agricultural labor. 1160 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Pipar City and Jodhpur to sell leather shoes and make their living.
