Lalas is a small village of 1646 hectares in Nawa Tehsil in Nagaur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Lalas depends on Sikar, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 1224.13% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Lalas is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Lalas's pin code is 341509[4], and village code is 01889900. The area of Lalas is segregated as 1224.13 hectares irrigated area, 284.56 hectares unirrigated, the 82.2 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 48.7 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Lalas has One post office (Lalas B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Lalas has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Lalas is a census village in the district of Nagaur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 4397 and has total administration over 705 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Lalas has 578 children, 299 boys and 279 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 793 (18.04%) males constitute 413 (9.39%) of the population and females 380 (8.64%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1784 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1101 male, 683 female with 1407 (78.87%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1031 males and 376 females. 516 males and 252 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 270 male and 81 female agricultural labor. 377 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Sikar and Nagaur to sell ghee and make their living.
