Landon Christopher Tengwall (born July 19, 2002) is an American football Guard (American football) for the Penn State Nittany Lions football. He is returning for his second year as a redshirt freshman.
Tengwall graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Olney, Maryland in 2021. He started his high school career at St. Vincent Pallotti High School in Laurel, Maryland, Maryland starting at Left Tackle (gridiron football position) Tackle in 2017 and recorded 64 pancake blocks. He was the only freshman selected to the MIAA First Team All Conference[1].
Tengwall transferred to Good Counsel in 2018 where he started at Right Tackle in 2018 and recorded 70. He was selected to the WCAC All Conference 1st Team, The Washington Post All-Met 2nd Team[2] and the MaxPreps Sophomore 2018 All American 2nd Team[3]
Tengwall started at Left Tackle in 2019 and recorded 77 pancakes. Good Counsel won the WCAC Championship 16-14[4] over St. John's College High School. Tengwall was one of only two juniors selected to the 2019 USA Today All-USA high school football team USA Today All-USA high school football team. He was also selected to the 2019 WCAC All Conference 1st Team[5], The Washington Post 2019 All-Met 1st Team[6] and the MaxPreps Junior 2019 All American 1st Team[7]
Tengwall's senior year was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however he was selected to the 2020 Pre-Season MaxPreps All American 1st Team[8] and the 2020 USA Today Pre-Season All-USA High School Football 1st Team[9]
Tengwall finished his high school career as the 54th ranked player in the country, 1st ranked player in Maryland and 7th ranked tackle according to the 247Sports Composite[10].
Tengwall redshirted his freshman year, however he still saw action in 3 games, playing left tackle against Rutgers and Michigan State and left guard against Arkansas in the Outback Bowl.
Tengwall is a redshirt-freshman and is listed as the starting left guard for the 2022 campaign.
