Law Ching Bor (born in 1947), also known as Law Zhong Yong, distinguished calligrapher and veteran calligraphy educator, retired school principal in Hong Kong, founder of "Spiritual Devotion through Calligraphy". His writing was twice selected (1995 and 1999) for exhibition in the China National Calligraphy and Seal Inscription Exhibition which is highly acknowledged as the ‘"Olympic Award of Calligraphy". One of his masterpieces "You Yuanmingyuan Guzhi" (Visit to the Old Summer Palace, 1999) was invited for inscription on the China Changde Poem Wall as a National monumental historical relic. Law Ching Bor was amongst the first batch of master graduates in the Research Institute of Chinese Calligraphy Culture at the Capital Normal University in Beijing and attended the Master Course of Education. He studied calligraphy under general Xia Jianyan and professors Wang Weichang, Chen Jinghong and Aouyang Zhongse. He also studied Chinese painting under master Zhao Xiaoang of the Lingnan school.

Law Ching Bor invented the "Law Ching Bor Instruction Method for the Science of Calligraphy" and "Law Ching Bor Interactive Learning Method in Brush and Pen Writing" in which the principles of mechanics, physics, geometry and structural science are integrated. He successfully challenged the "Mastery of calligraphy within two months" theory of master Wang Xizhi. He created the [Zhongyong Grid] which has been mathematically developed to combine the Golden Ratio in aesthetics with the classical Chinese "Zhongyong" (Doctrine of the Mean) philosophy to meet the needs of writing different calligraphy styles. The Zhongyong Grid has been patented in the year 2000.
