Leeri is a small village of 2824 hectares in Beawar Tehsil in Ajmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Leeri depends on Ajmer, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 404.05% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Leeri is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Leeri's pin code is 305203[4], and village code is 02514300. The area of Leeri is segregated as 564.11 hectares irrigated area, 700.22 hectares unirrigated, the 421.09 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 790.14 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Leeri has One post office (Leeri B.O) and Ten public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Leeri has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Leeri is a census village in the district of Ajmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3501 and has total administration over 714 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Leeri has 513 children, 282 boys and 231 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 679 (19.39%) males constitute 336 (9.60%) of the population and females 343 (9.80%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 74 (2.11%) males constitute 34 (0.97%) of the population and females 40 (1.14%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1724 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 990 male, 734 female with 1393 (80.8%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 877 males and 516 females. 470 males and 353 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 94 male and 95 female agricultural labor. 331 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Ajmer to sell earthen pot and make their living.
